Sightings

Due to the high frequency of overlapping recounts of the Nightmare Nyx's appearance in dreams, various studies have been conducted to collect data on the probability of its existence. As seen in the graphs below, brainwave activity for various participants align despite the lack of correlation dreamers may have with one another.

-REDACTED- 5 11/11/1977 "It was really tall... and had lotsa eyes... and it was really skinny. And... It had lotsa wings like a bat! It was kinda scary, but it only looked at me for a really long time before I woke up."
Anonymous Male, Early 20s 02/17/1979 "I couldn't really tell you anything that happened other than this overwhelming feeling of dread that I couldn't seem to shake for months after I woke up... Seeing it for the first time, all I could remember were its eyes peering at mine. It didn't blink once, I don't even know if it could see me, but its stare haunted me all the same." image depicts brainwave activities
Anonymous Female, 15 07/10/1981 "All I remember were the last few moments of my nightmare before I woke up. I was running away from something for a really long time and saw my favorite teddy, Mister Stuffums, in the distance.. I knew I would be safe if I grabbed him, so I did, but his stitching fell apart and all that was left was that thing's face glaring at me... Luckily though, I don't think it actually saw me, it's got so many eyes and every one of them is blind."
Anonymous Female, 42 05/04/1996 "It was unclear what this creature's motivations were. I recall having an unpleasant dream, but not of said dream's contents... Only seeing this creature watch over me before waking up. At least, it looked like it was watching me... I stared back at it only to realize it wouldn't move its eyes when I moved. I remember waking up with clammy palms, being nervous to see it again any time I went to sleep.. But thinking back on it, maybe it meant no harm to me."
Anonymous Male, 68 08/01/2000 "I don't think in all my years I've ever seen something like this before. I wouldn't say I've got a very active imagination at this age, so I was surprised when I saw this creature manifest itself in my dreams... Let alone in such pristine detail. I don't remember many, if any of the dreams I have, but I remember this creature very clearly. It was very long: long legs, long arms, long ears, long wings... And it had a lot of duplicate body parts that it likely had no use for. With the eyes I could see, none of them seemed to work. Out of curiosity, I shouted at it, and it didn't seem to hear me. I wonder what it wanted and why it chose to visit me..."
